Western Canada Ski Resort Opening Dates 2024-25

Winter is in full swing and ski season 2024-25 is on! The theme for this season is early openings, with a good selection of Alberta and BC ski resorts already in the flow, opening new terrain by the day.
So when will your favourite resort be opening? Read on to find Alberta and BC ski resort opening dates and start your countdown.
Typically, Alberta ski resorts lead the way in November. BC ski resorts join in later in November and into December.

Alberta ski resort opening dates 2024
With cooler temperatures in the eastern front of the Canadian Rockies and the foothills, Alberta ski resorts typically open between early November to early December. Here are projected opening dates for the 2024-25 season.

BC ski resort opening dates 2024
Owing to the warmer Pacific climate, BC ski resorts open a little later than Alberta's do, generally. BC hills tend to start opening in late November or early December, with most open by mid-December.
