Your privacy, our policy

SnowSeekers.ca does not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. 

When SnowSeekers.ca does share information, it is of a general nature and does not contain personal information. We want our members and site visitors to feel confident about using SnowSeekers.ca to plan and research their travel, so we are committed to protecting the information we collect. SnowSeekers.ca has implemented a security program to keep information that is stored in our systems protected from unauthorized access.

Currently, SnowSeekers.ca only stores the information you provide when registering to contact us or request an e-newsletter. Our systems are configured with data encryption and industry-standard firewalls. When you send personal information to SnowSeekers.ca over the Internet, your data is protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to ensure safe transmission.

Always human storytelling: our AI policy

Founded in 2008 as a vehicle to encourage more people to get outside, robots and AI have never been a part of our core values. 

We value the outdoors, we value connecting our community to those outdoors through the real people stories we get to share and tell everyday here on SnowSeekers.

Know we will never publish content that has been AI generated; we invest in real people, telling real stories. As a community member you can always trust our journalistic integrity to publish quality content. 

We support our brand building efforts not with robots and sneaky engagement tricks, rather with a real team. Here is our team page of contributors; these are people who are career outdoor storytellers. 

We can't simply ignore this new technology and so we do use AI to support our approach in how we publish based on data—leveraging AI as a tool to keep our community engaged with content that matters to you. 

  • We will not use AI to generate images.
  • We do use AI to assist in video reel production; however it's based on real content from our library of videographers we've built over our 18 year history. There are no AI fabrications within this video collection.
  • We will not use AI to put words onto our pages. PERIOD.

We rely on building community by serving up content relevant to that community's interest. Our goal is that our efforts reach a wider audience to further our mission in keeping seekers connected to the offline world and the planet's top tourism destinations right here in Alberta and BC.

Restrictions on Use of Content and Materials

Seekers Media has the following restrictions around the use of our content – thank you for adhering to them.

Unless we’ve authorized it, the only use of Seekers Media content across SnowSeekers, FestivalSeekers and/or ZenSeekers.com is for personal use only—inspiring your next outdoor adventure.

Content made available here within our websites, including articles, stories, text, photographs, images, illustrations, audio and video clips and other content (collectively, the “content”) are the property of Seekers Media.  This content is protected, without limitation, pursuant to Canadian and foreign copyright, trademark and other laws. Seekers Media grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, license to use our websites on your computer or other personal electronic device. This license is for personal, non-commercial, and educational purposes only.

You cannot use any of our content in connection with any commercial purpose, unless you obtain our written consent in advance. Personal, non-commercial use does not include the use of content in connection with training AI. You are not permitted to alter or modify, or remove any copyright notice from, any Property, Service or Content.

Any unauthorized use of any of the content is forbidden. As detailed here, you agree not to reproduce, sell, republish, broadcast, distribute, make derivative works of or otherwise make available any of Seekers Media’s content, including by framing, caching, using robots, spiders, scripts, software or any manual or automatic device, tool, or process designed to data mine or scrape the content, data or otherwise using, accessing, or collecting the content, data or information from the websites using similar automated means, without the prior written consent of Seekers Media.
