Revelstoke Mountain Resort has a rep for technical, advanced terrain and deep snow. Deservedly. 

But it’s also got a friendlier side, as writer Lisa Kadane recently learned on a visit to Revelstoke for Snowseekers, featured here. 

"Revelstoke has this reputation, obviously, of being really for advanced skiers with the big vertical and everything," says Kadane. "But we found there are so many parts of the mountain that are family- or beginner- friendly." 

"First off is the gondola... it’s really nice to have that enclosed space. And then right away you walk out of the gondola and there’s a covered moving carpet for beginners so they can learn to ski but be kind of protected from the elements."

Beyond the ease of your ski day, the lure of Revelstoke is also its mountain setting.

"You just have these amazing mountain views. It’s just visually stunning," Kadane describes. "And then you add the snow, of course, with Revelstoke consistently getting great snowfall, that powder people love."

She also recommends taking time to explore the town itself, well known to be one of BC's most alluring ski towns.

"Revelstoke has this historic charm, the downtown is great. It has this authentic vibe to it while at the same time there are so many restaurants and microbreweries popping up which is good for après-ski."

In other words, it's an ideal basecamp for your entire shred crew. 

Lastly, Kadane drops a hot tip for the family crews heading to Revy: “you can download on the gondola instead of skiing all the way down."

It's handy, she notes, when anyone in your crew has tired legs at the end of a big day of shredding and may not be up to skiing an extra 1500 metres or so to get back down to the base. Depending on how hard you skied during the day, that scenic ride down might be just the thing.

1. Eligibility Giveaway is open to those 18 or older and able to travel to Revelstoke Mountain Resort, during the 2025-26 ski season.

2. Entry Period The giveaway begins on February 3, 2026 and ends on Feb 16, 2026, at 09:00 PST. Entries submitted before or after the stated entry period will not be considered.

3. How to Enter Participants must sign up for the Reveltoke Mountain Resort newsletter. Only one entry per person is allowed. Duplicate entries will be disqualified.

4. Prize The prize is a two-night stay at Sutton Place Hotel Revelstoke, and four adult day lift tickets. No trades and no cash value is offered. Prize must be used before the end of the 2025-26 ski season.

5. Winner Selection and Notification The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received during the entry period. The winner will be notified via the email address provided during entry, at the time of selection. If the winner does not respond within 48 hours of the notification, a new winner may be selected.

6. Publicity By entering the giveaway, participants consent to the use of their name, likeness, and entry for promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
