Ski the aPOWcalypse this holiday season in AB, BC

We don't use aPOWcalypse loosely. But with massive snowfalls pummelling Western Canada these last couple weeks—and continuing into the Christmas break—this could be one of the biggest December snowfalls on record in Western Canada and you don't want to miss it. The skiing in both Alberta and BC this holiday season is going to be wild!

Lake Louise has already declared its best December in decades. Meanwhile new snow went nuclear from Vancouver Island, through the interior to Kicking Horse and Revy and there's snow near you, with more on the way!

We’re looking at 200cm+ packed bases and 100cm+ 7-day snowfalls, with more ahead. Here's a few places where you should be chasing pow this holiday season.

Kicking Horse 153cm in the last 7 days

Kicking horse has been consistently topping our conditions page charts this past week. With 153cm of snow in the last 7 days, Kicking Horse is steep and deep, especially as they draw closer to the 500cm snowfall mark, with a year-to-date total of 485cm as of Dec 23.

Mt Seymour, 142cm in the last 7 days

Mt Seymour is open for the 2025/26 ski season with new terrain opening up, with 142cm of snow in a week going a long way to make that happen! Mystery Peak Express started spinning on Monday, December 22, meaning 3 of the 4 main chairs at Seymour are spinning.

Lake Louise December for the decades

The Lake has had its best December in 75 years—yes, 75 YEARS—and it's still going strong, with over 463cm total snowfall this month, and 22cm in the past day. Here's a quick reel from 24h ago.
