Fernie is a ski town where you can feast on enchiladas from a Mexican diner while the spicy Curry Bowl awaits at the ski resort. Just a two-hour drive from Calgary, you'll find powder-filled days paired with this friendly former mining town with a rugged charm.  Fernie and its namesake alpine resort are blessed by snow gods. His name is The Griz and legend has it that he lives above Polar Peak and bestows the slopes with a snowy bounty. Each year the resort receives well over 30 feet of snow.
