Gear up, we are on winter's doorstep
Between Thanksgiving and Halloween, cooler temps have come creeping back and the mountains are getting snow! Overnight into Tuesday, October 17, Whistler, Big White, Sunshine and Kicking Horse all reported fresh precip. One day later, Lake Louise was coverd in white too! And you know what that means… ski season is getting closer!
Take a second from your fall raking and Halloween costume-planning to ogle these beauties, and then read on for some tips and a pre-season gear checklist, because you're going to want to be ready.

If you haven’t yet, now is the time to pull out your ski and snowboard gear and check it over to be sure you’re set for ski season.
Here's a quick pre-season gear checklist
- ski fits: look for things like rips or tears, make sure your gloves are in good shape and everything is clean (hopefully you did that before storing it away)
- helmet: check your helmet in case your head has grown (jk - look to be sure all the clips and dials are working, no big dents)
- boots: buckles, dials or laces in good shape and functioning; for ski boots, if you had any custom fitting done to the shell of your boot, it may need a quick refresh—something most shops will be able to help you with
