Snow in Banff keeps ski and ride stoke alive through Canada Day
Sunshine Village re-opens for skiing and snowboarding June 20 to July 5
Banff, AB It just keeps snowing in Banff! We’re still seeing our snow conditions page light up with the results and it’s the top of June.
This as Sunshine Village gets set to reopen Saturday June 20, to July 5, 2026. That means you can score a snow filled Canada Day, brew in hand, soaking up the sun post an epic day on the slopes.
“Having Sunshine Village open through two weeks in the summer only keeps the stoke going, because after that we’re only four months till they open!” exclaims Tyler Dixon, SnowSeekers ambassador.
Dixon, a teacher out of Calgary—you may have caught Tyler’s ZenSeekers piece on travelling to Antarctica (via a teaching fellowship with National Geographic)—he’s out on the snow with his students and his four boys a ton in the Bow Valley.
And Dixon’s math is spot on, seeing Lake Louise, Sunshine and Norquay, the three major hills within the Bow, add up to one of the longest ski seasons …in the world!
