The Mountains
Don't be intimidated by the fact that most of the resort is listed as advanced, there are plenty of runs for beginners and intermediate users. It's a Ten is yes, 10 km long and it easily takes beginners from the peak to the base - something not offered at many resorts. For the hard-core skier and boarder - prepare to be humbled. There are 85 inbound chutes so this horse has a pretty good kick! But like they say about any horse - if you get bucked off, ya get back on.

Heli-skiing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, telemark skiing, skating, and tubing are all at the resort or close by. Visit the wolf sanctuary or go ice fishing. Stop in town at the Whitetooth brewery to sample a flight of beer.

Getting There
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is easy to see from the TransCanada Highway as you arrive in Golden. The Whitetooth Range towering over the south side of town is laced with the Kicking Horse trails. Are you driving an RV? The sort is RV friendly so you can ski to your mobile door.
The resort is just 1.5 hours west of Banff (145 kilometers) and 2.5 hours west of Calgary (270 kilometers) on the Trans-Canada Highway. Follow the signs through Golden and meander up the base of the mountain 10 km and you are at the village.
Flying into Calgary International Airport from anywhere in the world is your best bet. Rental cars are available in the airport complex.
Kicking Horse has a shuttle service (twice weekly) from the Calgary International Airport and the daily 'ski and ride' Powder Express Shuttle services from Banff and Lake Louise.
