BANFF, AB – Canada’s iconic Banff National Park has been chosen as the top domestic attraction for the third consecutive year by Canadian travel agents in the annual Travel Agents Choice Awards.
Now in its 11th year, the 2010 Travel Agents Choice Awards survey has become a landmark in the industry, giving voice to Canadian travel agents to vote for their favourites in 24 different categories including favourite industry suppliers, organizations, and destinations.
Nearly 4,000 travel agents across the country cast their votes through ballots in Travel Press and Travel Courier and online at www.travelpress.com and recognized Banff National Park as the top attraction in Canada.
“Travel agents play a key role in bringing Canadian visitors to Banff and Lake Louise,” says Julie Canning, president and CEO of Banff Lake Louise Tourism. “The passion and dedication that they bring to the industry is appreciated and we are truly grateful that agents recognize Banff National Park as the top Canadian destination for their clients.”
Along with the Travel Agents Choice Award, Banff National Park has been recognized with the following in 2010:
• Travelocity’s Cure for Cabin Fever in Canada
• #1 Outdoor & Adventure Destination in Canada by TripAdvisor
• #4 Outdoor & Adventure Destination in the World by TripAdvisor
• Bronze winner for Travel/Tourism/Nature website by Summit International Awards
• Placed on MONOPOLY: Canada Edition board game
