Whistler/Blackcomb

Summer season ramps up this weekend at Whistler Blackcomb

WHISTLER, BC – Whistler Blackcomb may be renowned as a world class ski resort, but with an endless array of activities available to guests on and off the mountains, summer can hardly be called the "off-season" anymore. Mother Nature may be off to a slow start but June 19 marks the official launch of summer activities at Whistler Blackcomb with an alpine tube park, glacier skiing and riding, and alpine sightseeing.

Whistler Blackcomb named top resort in North America

WHISTLER, BC – Whistler Blackcomb has achieved the top spot as North America’s Favourite Resort in the annual Visitor’s Choice awards. Onthesnow.com is the most visited snow sports website and the Visitor’s Choice Awards are based on guest feedback.

Whistler officially records second snowiest season in history

WHISTLER, BC – Another blast of winter weather hit Whistler Blackcomb, dropping 21 centimetres on the mountains in the past 24 hours. This fresh powder brings the total snowfall this season to 1,432 centimetres (47 ft), surpassing the 2006/07 record of 1,416 centimetres (46 ft), making this season officially the second snowiest on record.

God's Glacier

WHISTLER, BC – Since I’ve been riding a lot of Whistler alpine, I decided to check out what Blackcomb had to offer. I’m not going to say I’ve been missing out, just that I wished I could have been in two places at once.

A walk in the park

WHISTLER, BC – You cannot come to Whistler without checking out one of the two Nintendo Terrain parks. Having one on each mountain, Whistler Blackcomb has every level of rider covered when it comes to all things park.

Whistler Bowl: a unique experience

WHISTLER, BC – Today's ski tour included some of the best runs I’ve ever, or possibly will ever, have: Whistler Bowl and the Peak chair.

Franz, Old Man, and some killer glades

WHISTLER, BC – Because Whistler Blackcomb is so massive with so many places to ski and ride, I’ve decided to ride a new section every day and tell the tale of my experiences.

First impressions

WHISTLER, BC – After skiing and snowboarding for 19 years, getting my first turns at Whistler today left serious impressions. From now on, my life as a rider will forever be divided into two categories: before and after Whistler. Coming into town, it’s very clear Whistler is not a typical ski town; it’s a mecca. There’s a reason Whistler is consistently ranked amongst North America’s best ski destinations, and it begins in the village.

The secrets to Whistler/Blackcomb

WHISTLER, BC — There are many great debates to have when in Whistler, such as where to party, which restaurant to eat at, which patio to hit for Après, but none can be so challenging than standing at the base of Whistler and Blackcomb to make the call on which mountain to hit.

Whistler’s problem is a good problem

WHISTLER, BC — The site of the 2010 Winter Olympics has a problem. From the endless amounts of epic skiable terrain, to the flurry of options in top-notch nightly entertainment....
