Lake Louise, AB – The Lake Louise Ski Area expects to be the first major North American ski resort to be wide open Wednesday, Nov. 21, if it opens its two remaining chairs as planned by the afternoon.

The Ptarmigan Chair is to open in the a.m., and Larch Chair later in the day, allowing guests to access all four its mountain faces.

“Thanks to the hard work of our Mountain Operations team, and to Mother Nature for providing her snowy blanket, we are thrilled to have another Lake Louise first this season,” says Mike Moynihan, Senior Sales & Marketing Manager.  “Last week we had the most vertical in North America, and now this week we are the first major ski resort to have all chairlifts open.

"It looks like it will be another phenomenal winter at Louise.”

Louise has seen 19cm of freshies in the last 24 hours, the resort said.  Additional snow is forecasted on Wednesday and Friday. This weekend, the resort hosts the world’s fastest alpine ski racers at the Winterstart World Cup.
