This July, FestivalSeekers' online audience grew almost 20 times over the same time last year. FestivalSeekers is Alberta's digital guide to inspiring festival-minded road trips.
Launched in June 2011, the media brand www.FestivalSeekers.com has continued to see a strong monthly increase in its audience. Backed by July 2012 website and Facebook analytics, Seekers Media is thrilled to announce that its digital media brand is now directly reaching around 25,000 unique travellers a week.
Weve seen our numbers continue to rise over this past year, but in July, the popularity of our social media channels and website traffic spiked big time, explains Seekers Media President & CEO Jim Barr.
The really interesting thing for us at Seekers is that this lift in our traffic isnt supported by a whole ton of advertising, its more about Seekers Medias correspondent network producing quality content that people are finding and engaging with online and through social media. It will be really exciting to take this momentum into the fall and winter with our additional media brand www.SnowSeekers.ca
A recent non-traditional partnership with Fountain Tire is driving a good chunk of this interest to the companies festival minded digital media offering. Launched this past summer, the partnership includes an interactive festival planning map and a branded content campaign running through to October 2012, and those festivals advertising with FestivalSeekers have seen a noticeable increase in their numbers. This year we certainly saw an increase in our attendance from Edmontonians, explains Slave Lakes annual Sand Sculpture Championships coordinator Michelle Morrison. Sixty-five percent of FestivalSeekers audience is Edmonton based.
FestivalSeekers offers its audience a unique one-stop shop for information on Albertas festival destinations including write-ups, signature stories and videos on over 100 festivals and events; from Castle Mountains Huckleberry Festival in the southwest to Lac La Biches Pow Wow Days in the northeast and everything in between. Were getting contacted weekly from festivals looking to have their festival or event listed with us, explains Seekers Media Content & Social Media Manager, Katie Correlje.
In April and May FestivalSeekers partnered with the community of Drumheller to produce Drumhellers DinoFest presented by Canalta Hotels. This media and marketing campaign generated by Seekers Media exposed the festival to over 725,000 people in three weeks and resulted in attraction revenue increases of approximately 10% from the same time last year.
