Between Takes is a four piece rock band ( Mark Pocock vocals and guitar, Andrew Laing lead guitar, Roddy MacIsaac Bass, and Brayden Clark on drums) whose inspiration comes from bands such as Breaking Benjamin, Stereophonics, Foo Fighters, Our Lady Peace, Tragically Hip, Shinedown, The Trews and Goo Goo Dolls, just to name a few.
Between Takes loves to build a song around a strong hook with catchy melodic guitar riffs so that when the chorus comes around for the second time, fans already know the lyrics and are singing along. In 2009 they spent a couple weeks in Vogville Studios recording their first E.P with producers John Franco (By A Thread, Strain) and Cheyne Stephen-Dewhurst. John and Cheyne quickly became mentors and friends, teaching them everything they could about the music industry and helping them take strides as artists. Between Takes released their five song E.P in the fall of 2009.
With the CD in hand, they hit the Vancouver music scene playing shows around town and quickly gained recognition and a loyal following. Vancouver radio station Virgin 95.3 gave the band a boost by awarding them as one of their "Best in BC" bands, and gave them airplay with their first single "See You Again", along with on air interviews. Shortly after Between Takes also made 99.3 The Fox Seeds Top 20. A contest where over 450 bands enter and and only the top 20 get to play a showcase. Keep an ear out for these guys, and make sure to check out the next Between Takes show!
