Seekers forms "The Collective"

For Immediate Release

Seekers Media forms The Collective, a group of influencers that includes leading bloggers and social media aficionados in Canada

EDMONTON – Seekers Media welcomes to its growing network The Collective — an influential group of Canada’s top bloggers and social media enthusiasts.

The Collective was brought together by Jim Barr, CEO of Seekers Media, to continue the growing reach of its content across Canada by collaborating with some of the country’s leading writers and digital story tellers. Each person in the collective has an extensive social media following and popular online presence.

The list of Seekers’ award-winning social media influencers includes:

·      JeffBartlett.com — Jeff Bartlett — Adventure travel photographer and writer, based in Jasper, AB. Bartlett has more than 120,000 followers on Instagram and has travelled the world.

·      Miss604.com  — Rebecca Bollwitt — Award-winning Vancouver-based travel writer and blogger who has been blazing social media trails for 11 years. She writes about travel, life, events and activities in Vancouver and the rest of B.C. She has more than 64,000 Twitter followers. Awards include Best Blog Canada West (2014), Best Local Twitterer from 2010-2013, and #1 Best Vancouver Blog for nine of the past 10 years (she was runner up on the 10th).

·      HikeBikeTravel.com — Leigh McAdam — This curious travel and outdoor adventure expert is a multi-award winning blogger (Top 5 Blogs in Canada, 2015, Group of Seven Best Canadian Travel Blogger, 2015). She has 10,000 and counting followers on Twitter and averages 50,000-plus visitors per month to her website. McAdam is also author of Discover Canada: 100 Inspiring Adventures.

·      Mikesbloggityblog.com — Mike Morrison — Since 2006, Morrison has been entertaining his fans with engaging, funny and insightful content. He has more than 64,000 unique visits to his site monthly, more than 17,000 followers on Twitter. He loves to travel and record about off-the-beaten places and experiences with photos and words.

“The goal of The Collective is to always tell the best story from their unique perspective and make their audiences want to have that very same experience,” says Lisa Monforton, Editor of Seekers Media.

Seekers also works with a long list of experienced travel writers across Canada, including: Joanne Elves, Liz Fleming, Lisa Monforton, Mark Sissons, Crai Bower and Paula Worthington.

Monforton says when the bloggers were introduced to the Seekers’ network, the company asked them what kind of travel and experiences most appealed to them. “With that information, we try to make sure they get to experience and talk to people who can give them the best inside information on all of the festivals, destinations and activities we are covering,” said Monforton.

Once they’ve written their stories and taken their photos, the bloggers and writers do what they do best — spread the word on their adventures and stories through their individual websites, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Google+. Their goal is also to engage with the people they are writing about — from destination organizations, to festival organizers and musical artists headlining music festivals.

The Collective adds tremendous value to anyone using the Seekers Media network amplifying reach. To find out more of how to leverage this tool, contact Jim Barr.
