SUN PEAKS, BC — The Sun Peaks Sports School is opening up even more opportunities to give people access to snow with three new programs being offered at Sun Peaks Resort this winter.

Adaptive Sports

Guests with physical and cognitive disabilities will have even more opportunities to be active and enjoy Sun Peaks with new programs developed in a partnership between Sun Peaks Sports School and Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks (ASSP). Programs include a Learn to Ski Adaptive Lesson, a Friends & Family Private Lesson and an Ability to Ski Adaptive Lesson.

“Sun Peaks has the experience, expertise, and programs to provide a great guest experience within the Adaptive Program,” says Vincent Lafontaine, the Sports School Director. “We are one of the most progressive resorts in regards to Adaptive Snow Sports, with certified and experienced instructors teaching sit ski, stand-up ski, and visually or hearing impaired lessons.”

Freestyle

Skiers and boarders looking to step it up into the Freestyle world can enroll in a brand new program that will teach the foundation freestyle skills with an emphasis on good technical skiing / riding in the following areas: free skiing/riding, the terrain park, moguls for skiers and all mountain freestyle for boarders. The Freestyle Program is a 10-class course on Sunday’s beginning January 8, 2012 for only $185 per person.

Nordic

Sun Peaks is expanding their Cross-Country Skiing program this winter with new lessons available for guests. Whether you’re looking to get into the sport for the first time, or want to enhance your skills to a new level, there are three lesson options available: Intro to Nordic Skiing, Group Lessons, and Private Lessons.
