FERNIE, BC – Fernie Alpine Resort will open early to celebrate its commemorative season! Fernie, famous for having some of the deepest snow in the Rockies, is full of historic moments this upcoming season.
Fernie Alpine Resort will be open on November 26 & 27 for a preview weekend of skiing and boarding. Full, seven-day-a-week operations start on Friday, December 2, 2011.

“This is the season of celebration, a tribute to all who have helped make Fernie a special place to ski for the last 50 years,” said Matt Mosteller.
With recent huge snowstorms and La Niña forecasted to return this winter, this is the winter to ski Fernie. Last season, Fernie Alpine Resort received 37 feet of snowfall.
Positive construction progress continues on the NEW Polar Peak lift. With the Polar Peak lift, Fernie now has the most vertical and the most ski runs in the Canadian Rockies. Click here for a story on the Polar Peak lift.
