COMOX-COURTENAY, BC — With one of North America’s deepest snowbases, Mount Washington invites you to spend more time on the snow. How, you ask? It’s easy: the mountain provides two extra hours of ride time every night this season. Running Thursday through Saturday and daily over holiday periods, night skiing begins at 3:30 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.
Night skiing takes place off the mountain’s Green and Whiskey Jack Chairs.
“Our new hours are aimed at the customers who want to get some riding time after work hours,” explains director of Business Operations Don Sharpe. “We have some new ticket products based around our night program – these include a day/night combo and even a late night ticket.”
If you’re looking for a lift up the mountain, Mount Washington relaunches the Ski Shuttle for its second season. The Shuttle will bring you from sea to snow on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during daylight hours and from Thursday to Saturday during night skiing. The Shuttle will rocket you to the top of the mountain both daily and nightly during holiday periods.
To round out your alpine experience in the evenings, Mount Washington’s Nordic Centre provides 2 kms of night-lit trails from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Ozone is open with multiple lanes for snow-tubing family fun through the evenings as well. There’s never been a better time than the present to spice up your nightlife at Mount Washington. For complete hours of operation and ticket prices for night skiing, the Ozone Tubing Park, and for Mount Washington’s Nordic Centre and shuttle service, check out www.mountwashington.ca.
