Win a spectacular winter stay at Sunshine Mountain Lodge

– Sept. 13/2011

BANFF, AB — Sunshine Village Ski & Snowboard Resort is holding a summer hiking photography contest. All you have to do is head to Sunshine Meadows and capture some great summer images.

Sunshine Meadows has been one of Canada’s best kept natural secrets. But the secret is out: This year, it was named the Best Day Hike in Canada by the international guide Lonely Planet.

If you head up there when the legendary champagne powder snow is gone, it’s easy to see why. The hillsides are covered in eye-popping wildflowers and unique lichens, and populated with a wide variety of wildlife.

Most visitors see the area when it’s under a blanket of white, but you can show them what they’ve been missing.

Your photo can be of waterfalls, mountain streams, the Sunshine Mountain Lodge, wildflowers or the mountain peaks that surround the resort, located in the heart of Banff National Park.

Make sure that the object of your photo was covered by copious amounts of snow during the winter months. Tell us about your hike at Sunshine Meadows and why you chose the subject of your photo.

Hurry: The contest closes Sept. 26. So, get up there now, while the wildflowers at are their peak.

For details on the contest, check Sunshine's Facebook page.

The prize includes two nights all-inclusive stay (between Sunday and Friday) at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge during 2011-12 ski season, plus dinner in the Eagle’s Nest dining room, VIP parking and full-day, next-day lift tickets for two days of fun on Sunshine’s slopes.
