SnowFest reboots Calgary’s annual ski show

The Nov. 4-6 event seeks to reinvigorate Calgary's snow season

1st annual Calgary SnowFest

CALGARY, AB – Sunshine Village Ski & Snowboard Resort will be front and centre this year at the first Calgary SnowFest at Canada Olympic Park, Friday through Sunday, Nov. 4-6.

“The show is intended to bring a proper start to the ski and snowboard season. It only makes sense to have such a big kick off to the season here in Calgary,” said Kevin Blackburn, SnowFest Director and Managing Partner of Canwest Productions. The show is being co-hosted by WinSport Canada and Canwest Productions.

Blackburn said while they had previously produced the Calgary ski and snowboard show, the SnowFest has taken on a new direction. “It’s a festival, a bigger ski and snowboard swap, there will be many exhibitors. You can educate yourself as to what’s going on and get yourself stocked up for the season.”

What else is in store for visitors?

  • Sneak-a-Peak Friday with an outdoor movie premiere, bonfire, and fashion show;
  • Double Diamond Saturday with huge entertainment including big air demos & extreme sled tricks;
  • Family Day Sunday with a pancake breakfast, contests & games for the kids and athlete appearances;
  • Jib Jam throughout the day with riders from WinSport Canada.

With a little something for the whole family, and of course a grand prize of a Sunshine Village family season pass and holiday package, the SnowFest is on target for a great weekend!

“We hope to see around 10,000 people over the course of the 3 day show,” said Blackburn.
