Husky Energy and RCR support healthy, active lifestyles
CALGARY, AB — Husky Energy and Resorts of the Canadian Rockies (RCR) are pleased to once again present the Husky Grade 2 FunPass program.
Now in its seventh year, the program provides young Albertans with a complimentary Season Pass valid at Western Canadian RCR ski resorts. The program offers the opportunity for youth to learn and build their skiing and snowboarding skills, while encouraging a healthy, active, family lifestyle.
"Skiing and snowboarding are some of the best activities that families can enjoy together," says Matt Mosteller, marketing and sales VP for Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. "This program promotes a healthy, active, outdoor lifestyle at a young age, by giving Grade 2 students the opportunity to try the sport for free, for an entire season. We are always excited to introduce a new generation of skiers and riders to the sport."
For the 2009-10 ski season, the Husky Grade 2 FunPass program provides eligible children with a Husky RCR Rockies Grade 2 Pass; good for season pass privileges at Fernie Alpine Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort, and Nakiska Ski Resort.
"We love seeing the incredible long-term benefits from this program,” says Mosteller. “We see it as a responsible contribution towards fighting childhood obesity by getting kids active in the outdoors."
To qualify for the Husky Grade 2 FunPass program, children must be in Grade 2 (or born in 2002) and living in Alberta or British Columbia. A copy of a birth certificate, Alberta Health Care card, current Grade 2 report card, or last year’s Grade 1 report card, must be provided for a pass to be issued. The only cost incurred is a $20 processing fee for the pass, which is a saving of over $400 off a regular pass price for a child.
