Banff Voted onto MONOPOLY: Canada Edition game board
BANFF, AB – Banff National Park has earned one of 22 property spaces on the MONOPOLY: Canada Edition game board. Banff National Park is the only mountain resort destination and national park community to be included on the upcoming Canada edition of the popular board game.
65 pre-selected communities were identified as potential property to be featured on the board based on geography and population. After a four-week campaign of voting 20 communities were granted a spot. Two remaining spots were reserved for a wildcard vote which lasted two weeks and Banff, Alberta was one of two communities to be voted as a brown property on the game board.
“After one million votes, we are thrilled to be included as one of the 22 destinations represented on the MONOPOLY: Canada Edition game board” says Julie Canning, president and CEO of Banff Lake Louise Tourism. “We are in the company of some great communities included on the game board and our wildcard win from votes collected from across the country confirms that we are a favourite destination for Canadians.”
