Inspired by record-setting snowfall, the first annual Marmot Madness spring celebration launches this April with special events, crazy deals and more great spring skiing. The madness officially began March 30th, when Marmot Basin smashed its previous annual snowfall record with a new total of 575 cm – and counting – and carries on through the month of April until closing day on May 6:
April 14: Kokanee Freeride Marmot’s classic spring party with Rail Jam and smokin’ BBQ. The Kokanee Freeride Mountain tour will make its way to Marmot Basin on April 14th and there will be live music, dancing, barbeques and a rail-jam to keep the beat of the ski season alive and thriving through the month and into May, when Marmot plans to close up shop until next winter.
April 21: Second Annual Aloha Cup A fun ski and snowboard race for all ages and abilities. Just $15 gets a race entry, BBQ lunch and a chance to win great draw prizes. Beach or tacky Hawaiian wear encouraged. Post race, Now! 102.3 radio hosts Crash and Mars will host a free concert at the Caribou Lodge with Vancouver punk rockers Marianas Trench.
May 5 – 6: Beach Party Shakedown Send off a great season with music, dancing and outdoor BBQ. Wear a piece of hockey clothing or memorabilia from your favourite team and receive 50% off a full day lift pass.
Not enough madness for you? Marmot Basin is also offering Super Spring Savings: $61 Student lift tickets, 50% off full day lift passes for anyone with a 2011/12 season pass at any ski area, and two free weekends (April 27-29 and May 4-6) for Marmot Basin Midweek and Mini Midweek season passholders.
